Modality Worklist

DICOM Modality Worklist makes patient demographic information from a Radiology Information System (RIS) available at a modality, eliminating dual data entry and providing data integrity. The advantage of this service is that retyping patient demographic and scheduling information is eliminated at the modality. Demographic information such as patient name, birth date, sex, etc. is copied from the retrieved worklist. In addition to the time saved, there is a much bigger advantage – data integrity. MW is often used in two different manners by a device. Some devices retrieve the information in real-time, and some update the list by polling the IS on regular intervals.
